Obituary of Elsie Canter

ELSIE CANTER GREAT NECK, NY FORMELY OF WOODRIDGE Elsie Canter, a retired Fallsburg Central School teacher, a longtime Woodridge resident died on Monday, February 28, 2005 at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was 91. Elsie was born on October 17, 1913 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Julius and Fannie Raymond Yellin. She was the widow of Herman Canter who died in 1992. Elsie was a longtime member of Cong. Ohave Sholom the Woodridge Synagogue. She is survived by her sons; Paul Canter and his wife Smi of Staatsburg, NY and Dr. Joel Canter and his wife Beverly of Stanfordville, NY and her daughter; Ruth Cohen and her husband Richard of Great Neck, NY, along with her five grandchildren; Amy, Lauren, Julie, Seth and Joshua and her great grand son Jack. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at 2pm at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home Inc. 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY. Rabbi Irving Goodman will officiate.
