Obituary of Naomi Krieger

Naomi Krieger of Woodridge, NY and Boynton Beach, Fl passed away June 10, 2015 in Boynton Beach. She was predeceased by her parents, Nathan and Yetta Levitz, brothers, Morris Levitz, David Levitz, and Abe "Frenchy" Levitz, and sisters, Rebecca "Becky" Cohen and Blanche Gerson. Naomi's husband of 69 years, Jerome Irving Krieger, also predeceased her in January of 2012. Naomi lived most of her life in Woodridge. She graduated from Woodridge High School in 1940. She won the Queen Esther Beauty contest and the Sullivan County Beauty contest in 1940. She was active in the Woodridge Sisterhood and was a lifetime member of Hadassah. Naomi was an avid golfer and played in leagues in Loch Sheldrake, NY and Sun City West Arizona, where she owned a home and wintered for 18 years. She was recorded in Golf Digest for having made a hole in one at a tournament in 1984. Naomi had a passion for designing and tailoring her highly acclaimed wardrobe. She was known as a great cook, had many sought after recipes and enjoyed entertaining in her home. She was employed at the Associated Mutual Insurance Company in Woodridge for 30 years and retired from there in 1986. Naomi is survived by her sons Robert Krieger(wife Ilyse) of West Boca Fl and Neil Krieger of Smyrna, Ga., grandchildren Douglas Krieger(wife Kelly) of Winston-Salem NC and Pamela Krieger of Alexandria,VA., and great grandchildren Katelyn Krieger, Olivia Krieger and Chelsea Krieger. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, most of which were very close to her throughout the years. Naomi also loved her late pet dogs, Boots, the boxer in the 1950's - 1960's and Sunday, the beagle in the 1970's - 1980's. Special thanks to Monica Anglin, Angella King and Rhoshanda King for the great care of Naomi and Irving in the last few years. Graveside services will be held today, Friday June 12, 2015 at 12:30PM at the Congregation Ohave Shalom Synagogue Cemetery, Marsh Rd, Glen Wild, NY.
