Obituary of Daniel Miller

Daniel Miller, 91 of Mountainside, NJ, formerly of Delray Beach, FL and Monticello, NY died on July 23, 2015. Daniel was preceded in death by his first wife, Elaine (1978), his second wife, Charlotte Schwartz (2015) and sister, Miriam Yasgur (2014). He is survived by his children: son, Martin and wife, Lauren of Monticello, NY; daughter, Marsha and husband, Carl Goldstein of Berkeley Heights, NJ; and step-daughters: Suzanne and her husband, Barry Glucksman of Warwick, RI, Beverly Paige of Monticello, NY and Mindy and her husband, Howard Schwartz of Coral Springs, FL; as well as 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Daniel was born and raised in the Bronx. He relocated to Sullivan County to join his brother-in-law, Max in establishing Yasgur Farms Dairy. Daniel was a veteran of World War II, having fought in the five major battles in the European theater. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America, a board member of the Monticello JCC, and a member of Jesse Brahms Post of the Jewish War Veterans. While living in Florida, Dan served as the President of the Kings Point Men's Club and his condominium association. Dan will be remembered as an avid fisherman, a creator of needlepoints and a storyteller. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 26th at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY 12701. Burial will take place in Workman Circle #281 cemetery on Marsh Road in Glen Wild. Donations in his memory may be made to Temple Sholom, P.O.
