Obituary of Simon Borofsky

Simon Borofsky passed on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at home in Greensboro, NC surrounded by his family. The son of the late Abraham and Sara Lazarowitz Borofsky, Simon was born on February 26, 1920 in Manhattan. He was the youngest of four children: Morris, Daniel, and Eva. On September 17, 1949 he married beautiful Rita White, had two children, Sheri and Donald. He enjoyed watching WWE and Anthony Bourdain, and had a longtime interest in world affairs. He was an Army Veteran of the United States and President of Congregation Knesset Israel Synagogue 1988-2006, Ulster Heights Road, Ellenville NY. He is survived by his two children and son-in-law, Sheri E. Skeahan, Donald Borofsky, and Jeffrey Skeahan; four nieces, four nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita in 2002. The family thanks Karetha Hargrove, Private Care; Christine B. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday, January 31st at the Congregation Ashe Tzaydik Cemetery, Route 209, Warwarsing, NY. Rabbi Endre Stamler will officiate.
