Obituary of John Kotin
John was born in Monticello, NY on April 8, 1936 the son of Edward and Ada Gerson Kotin, being the fourth generation of his family to live in Sullivan County. John graduated from Fallsburg High School, in 1954 and attended Syracuse University, and went to Temple University Dental School. John served in the United States Air Force, after his service he returned to Sullivan County where he started his dental practice in 1964 in Monticello.
John was loved by his patients and cared for three generations of many Sullivan County families. After many years John retired he devoted more time to his favorite pass times – golf and skiing. He was able to do this for about three years until he became ill and finally succeeded to Parkinson ’s disease.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Kotin; his daughter, Stacey Losman, his son Bryan Kotin and daughter-in-law, Debbi Kotin, and his beloved grandchildren: Mitchell Losman, Daniel Losman, Jacob Kotin and Jillian Kotin. John is also survived by a brother, Lawrence Kotin, a sister-in-law Barbara Kotin, and his nieces, nephews, and cousins
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 5, 2015 at 12pm at Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home Inc. 388 Broadway Monticello, NY. Burial will be in Temple Shalom Cemetery Southwood’s Rd. Monticello.
Contribution may be made in Johns name to the Motion Clinic of Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.
