Obituary of Maxine Chapin

Maxine Chapin, 75, of Ellenville, NY passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family and friends.  She was born March 25, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Isadore and Marion Levine.

Maxine was a lifelong educator and member of the Ellenville community for the majority of her life, working at the school as a teacher for over 30 years and then a member of the Ellenville Board of Education following her retirement.

She is survived by her three daughters, Alison Chapin (Koby), Francine Scarinzi (Ken Scarinzi) and Michelle Cohen (Glen), and five grandchildren, Reid Cohen, Rachel Scarinzi, Brennen Cohen, Addison Scarinzi and Maya Kobayashi.

A funeral service will be held at the Congregation Ezrath Israel Synagogue, 34 Center Street, Ellenville, NY 12428 on Friday May 18, 2018 at 12:30pm.  Interment will follow immediately at the Ezrath Israel Cemetery on Route 209 in Wawarsing.
