Mitchell, Bobby and families, please accept my heartfelt condolonces on the loss of your dad. I remember him well from high school - he urged me to try out for the cheerleading squad and later in life he helped me choose paint colors for the eight rooms in my new house. I will always remember him for his kind heart and the little jokes in the window of the store.

I have the fondest memories of Mr. Cooper and Cooper Paints. His kindness is never forgotten. When I was young, I painted my room and paid for the materials with my own money. I paid for the paint, rollers and pans, but did not have enough to pay for the brush. Hanging my head sadly, ready to go ask mom for money to buy the brush, and no longer feeling "independent", Mr. Cooper brough over the brush, put it on the counter and said that every first time painter received a free paint brush as part of the "new painters club." Young and naive as I was, it wasn't until much later that I realized what a kind man he was to save a young girls self respect. Thank you Mr. Cooper, you will be missed.

To all of the Cooper family,
Monticello will never be the same without Allen's constant smile and presence. For years his coffee and doughnuts at the store made shopping for wallpaper and paint a pleasure instead of a terror. His advice was always given as a loving uncle and could be well taken. Please let your memories of this wonderful man sustain you during this most difficult time. With our deepest sympathies, Terr and Ed Epstein

Allen was a cousin and a true friend to my husband Buddy who would start his day at Cooper Paints with his coffee and bagel amid the company of the Coopers who gathered there each morning. When we moved to San Antonio they still called each other almost daily. Buddy looked forward to those talks during his recent illness. I hope that you find comfort in knowing that many thoughts are with you.

I am so saddened to hear about the passing of Allen Cooper. There wasn't a time when I would see him in the paint store that he didn't have a smile on his face. His joyful nature and positive outlook always brightened the day. My deepest sympathy to both Mitch and Bobby, as well as to your entire family. Your dad was beloved and will be missed greatly by all whose lives he touched.

Allen was my youngest brother. I called him from California every morning at 6:30. I miss speaking to him, his laugh always made my day. I was the youngest of the family and only girl, I had the best 4 brothers that anyone could have had. We were blessed with a wonderful family. I will miss him tremendously. Love you forever Allen!!!

Just having a businessman who had the patience to help a lady, to understand about paint. He would explain the right brushes, paint and let you look thru all the books. The town will miss him. He was an asset to Monticello.

Dear Sybil, Mitchell, Bobby and families,
I am so sorry for your loss. Allen was such a fine man. Always a kind word or act to make a friend. He loved just enjoying life and made it a pleasure to be in his company. The many times we spent together years ago are engraved upon my heart - Christmas Eves and Narrowsburg Field Days. I will keep you all in my prayers and give thanks that I was lucky enough to share some time with Allen.
With love,
June

Dear Mrs. Cooper, Mitchell, Bobby and families, I send my my regrets for your loss. While we have not connected recently. I charish the memories of the time we spent togehter when I was young with Mr. Cooper playing the organ and singing. Stopping into the store with my Dad. Give us a bowling machine. Mrs. Cooper's snowmobile ride one Christmas Eve. The white sage carpet room. Stopping into the store when I worked forSullivan Co. area DOT with Mr. Cooper playing the organ and visiting the store at Christmas time with the moving Santa and the joy of the company. Mr. Cooper is one of the finest people I have ever known and we are all lucky to have known him. We should all go forward remembering his action while he was with us and act accordingly in his memory.
If I can help in any way let me know.
Love Drew
