Irwin Mack, 85 Monroe, NY March 11, 1918 - March 16, 2013 Irwin Mack of Monroe NY, beloved husband of Sonia, died Saturday March 16, 2013, in Middletown, NY. Son of the late Herman Mack & Anna Pliner Mack, Irwin was born March 11, 1918 in Rego Park, NY. He was a well-known businessman. He was a decorated veteran of WWII, First Division, Big Red One, 26th Infantry, with the following commendations: American Defense Service Medal, two Bronze Star Medals, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, two Purple Hearts and several Oak Leaf clusters. He was present in the following campaigns: Algeria, French Morocco, Tunisia, Normandy, Northern France, and Aachen Germany. He is survived by two sons and one daughter, two grandsons, four granddaughters and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services are being held at 1 PM, Tuesday March 19 at Temple Beth Shalom, 13 Roosevelt Ave., Florida NY. Burial with military honors at the Temple Beth Shalom Cemetery on Spanktown Rd., Florida.
