In 1970 My mother asked me "what do you want to do this summer, your too old for camp". A call to her friend Helen led to the beginning of a 40 year relationship that went way beyond employer-employee. God bless you Helen... Oh yes, "its on YOUR side" RIP.

I have such fond childhood memories of summertimes spent in Monticello with my grandparents (Sylvia and Manuel Bogner, cousin to Milt). No summer was complete without several trips to Kutshers for swims in the pool, tennis matches, shows,whatever...and each and every visit was never complete with out a kiss on the cheek and a lovely bowl of ice cream from Helen.
Years later, as an adult, I still loved seeing Helen at family gatherings and still looked forward to her kiss. She, along with my grandmother Sylvia, have always been the perfect example of what a professional woman can bring to the world: warmth, strength, beauty, class, and respect.
With so much love,
Resa and Family

Helen Kutsher was a woman of valor. My first memory of her was of her smiling face as she seated us in the dining room at Pesach. (she had just given birth to Mark)
My last memory is the time we had a family reunion in 2003
and Helen made us feel we had all come home. Before we left, she presented me with a photo album for pictures of our weekend.
and in between the memories of a generous, kind, beautiful woman whose happiness came from making people happy.

I had the distinct pleasure of knowing and working for Mrs. K. She was a wonderful woman who would do anything for the people she cared about. She really never met a stranger. She taught me alot about customer service and just service in general. She was one of a kind and there will never be another. My heart goes out to Mark, Maisy and Karen and their families. Just know that her legacy will live on in all of you!!

I started going to Kutshers when I was 11 years old. I eventually worked there, first selling newspapers on the dining room steps, then as a bellhop and eventually working in the card room. I have only good memories of my years at Kutshers and especiallyMrs. Kutsher and her family. Mrs. Kutsher' was always around and always had a one liner for me. It was nice to always have another "mother or favorite aunt around to keep me in line.
I was fortunate enough to see her two years ago, and she hadn't lost a step.
I don't know if Mark, Mady or Karen remember me, but I can only say that the years I spent at Kutshers helped shape my life and were the best place that I could spent time to shape my life.
My condolences to all of the Kutsher family and all the accolades heaped on Mrs. Kutsher are well deserved. I will always have good memories of her and cherish my years as part of the"Kutsher Family"

I remember folndy when this small plane came to Sosua.I was maybe 9 or 10 years old when this happened and a bunch of us were playing baseball when the plane was landing.Needless to say,we all ran to the airport which was close by and by the time we got there, there were a few adults talking to the pilot. Before we new what was happening,we were offered a short flight above Sosua. For the few of us that flew that day,it was our first plane ride, and what a thrill it was. I hate to say this but I worked at kutshers on weekends as a counselor. I went to kutshers many many times years. Loved everything about it but , once mama kutsher they called her was a nasty woman who embarrassed the crap out of people. I'm assuming it was Helen but this was around 1969. I saw sitting with my group of kids in dining room..I was a counselor then she walked into dining room with a Walker and pointed to me and made me stand up and yelled at me something about my hair not being combed. I was mortified. I don't see how it could be her if she died in 2013 and was in her 90s.
