Obituary of Barry Kulchinsky

Forestburgh, NY

Barry Kulchinsky of Forestburgh, NY passed away peacefully on the 17th of March, 2025 after a long illness. He was 47 years old.  The son of Alan and Amy Cohen Kulchinsky he was born on May 4, 1977 in Monticello, NY.

Barry loved spending time with his family, he loved his dog companions Trucker a trained service dog and then Rudy and and Murphy.  He enjoyed using technology to further his abilities, enjoyed watching baseball, courtroom dramas especially real life trials, following the news and listening to music.  Barry was a High School graduate, he had many wonderful support staff and was always more concerned with their needs than his own.  He was able to live successfully in his own apartment in Middletown, NY for the last ten years and he was very proud of living independently and managing his own life which he did very well.  Barry demonstrated great courage in living with the challenges in his life, and anyone that knew him learned more about life and love and what’s important in life than they could have ever imagined.

Barry is survived by his parents Alan and Amy Cohen Kulchinsky, his sister Morgan Ovitsky, her husband Darren Ovitsky, nephew Austin Ovitsky, niece Quinn Ovitsky, Grandmother Ruth Cohen and aunt Shelly Cohen and her husband Eric Lebowitz.

Barry was predeceased by his grandparents Max and Jean Kulchinsky, uncle Steven Kulchinsky, grandfather Arnold Cohen.
