Obituary of Barri Lynn Glick

Barri Lynn Glick, daughter of Arthur and Chicki Glick,sister to Todd Glick, passed away unexpectedly in Monticello, New York, the town where she was both born and ultimately returned to after a life rich with exploration, faith, and deep connections.
Her sons, Elan and Noah along with her daughter-in-law Mai and Tonya, will carry forward the love and lessons she imparted. She is proudly known to her beautiful North Stars: Shea, Kai, and Rell, as “Savti.”
Barri grew up surrounded by the familiar rhythms of small-town life before setting out on a journey that would take her far beyond its borders. With little more than a backpack and a collection of books, she traveled through Europe—an experience that shaped her worldview and deepened her appreciation for culture and connection. Her travels eventually led her to Israel, where she pursued her dream.
Barri's life was marked by transformation and devotion. She embraced her religion with passion and commitment, growing into it with full-hearted conviction. Her spiritual journey became a cornerstone of her identity and guided much of how she lived and loved. “Humans Inspiring Peaceful Positive Ideas Everywhere.”
Upon returning to the United States, Barri made her way back to Monticello—a place that remained close to her heart throughout her life. There she met her husband, Gil, a man who played an important role in helping raise her sons, Elan and Noah. Together they created a home filled with adventure, laughter, and enduring memories.
Barri had an extraordinary ability to connect with people from all walks of life. She could make friends easily and held them close in her heart. Though sometimes quick to judge at first glance, she always softened with time—welcoming others into her world with warmth and sincerity. Her compassion extended especially to those experiencing grief; she shared in their sorrow as if it were her own and offered unwavering support to family and friends in need.
Barri’s spirit endures in the hearts of all who knew her—through the adventures she embraced, the faith she held dear, and the love she shared so freely.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Joseph N Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway, Monticello, New York, 12701, beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow at the Temple Sholom Cemetery, Southwoods Road, Monticello.
Shiva will follow at 38 East Glen Wild Road in Glen Wild, NY.
