Obituary of Harriet W. Morton
Our hearts are heavy, but we know our beloved Harriet W. Morton, who was 99 years young, is once again with her devoted husband Julius F Morton. Harriet was the youngest of 7 children born to Max and Raise Weber, of Scranton PA. She spent most of her adult life as a resident of Monticello, NY where she raised her family: C. Jenny Silverman and husband Louis, and Elizabeth MacDonald and husband Richard. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Richard Wayne MacDonald, Kat Phillips and husband Mike, Robert MacDonald and wife Nikki, Rebecca Osborne, and Laurie Bufkin along with great grandchildren: Harley Phillips, Cole Phillips, Jordan MacDonald, Dylan Osborne, Ava Bufkin and Cole Bufkin, in addition to many nieces and nephews.
Harriet loved deep sea fishing and boating in Marathon, FL, during the winter months and spent her leisure time during the warmer months at Masten Lake in Wurtsboro, NY with her family and many friends. Harriet was a Registered Nurse at Monticello Hospital and the co-owner of Monticello Plate Glass. She was also a member of the Landfield Avenue Synagogue and a life member of Hadassah.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home Inc, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY 12701. Interment will immediately follow at the Landfield Avenue Synagogue Cemetery, Thompson Road, Monticello.
The family will be sitting Shiva at the home of the Silverman’s (6 Country Lane, South Fallsburg, NY).
