Obituary of Ruth Adamson
Ruth Adamson of Monticello, a retired co-owner of Rivertone Corp and homemaker and longtime resident of the area, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY. She was 87.
Ruth was born on June 17, 1930 in Poland, the daughter of the late Sam and Gittel Schlusselberg. She relocated to New York in 1949 as a teenager after the war.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Ruth was the last living member of her family that all survived the Holocaust. She dedicated her life to the upbringing of her children and was loved by them dearly.
She was predeceased by her husband, William in 2009, her son Alan in 1998.
Ruth is survived by her son: Steven and wife Kelli of Downsville, her four daughters; Marilyn Adamson (Andrew Greenberg) of San Francisco, CA, Elisa Burns and her husband Patrick of Parksville, Sharon Jacobs and her husband Pinchas of New Hempstead, NY and Susan Taubes of Teaneck, NJ. She will be sadly missed by her precious grandchildren; Meir, Jaycob, Matthew and Ryan, Jessica, Gitty, Leah and Sorah, Jonathan and Julia; her great grandchildren: Avi, Ruthie, & Yisroel.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY, with Rabbi Ben Zion Chanowitz officiating. Burial to follow at the Landfield Ave. Synagogue Cemetery in Monticello, NY.
The family will be sitting Shiva at the family home, 17 Dillon Farm Rd., Monticello, NY.
