Alvin Kadan, the former owner operator of the New Carpenter Laundry in Hudson New York and Brady’s Laundry in Athens, New York, and a longtime resident of the area, died in evening hours on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at the Orange Regional Medical Center, in Middletown. He was 80 years old.
The son of the late Jack and Betty Albert Kadansky, Alvin was born in Brooklyn, on October 18, 1933.
He is survived by his loving children, Steven Kadan, and his wife Diana, of Airmont, NY and Janice Kadan of Woodbourne; and his grandchildren, Benjamin and Jaxon. In addition to his parents, Alvin was predeceased by his wife, Deanna in 2002 and his brothers, Bert and Seymour.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 12:00pm at the Congregation Anshe Tzadik, 186 Canal Street, Ellenville. Burial will follow in the Synagogue Cemetery in Wawarsing.
