Obituary of Arline Greenberg

Arline (Cannon) GREENBERG August 8, 1923~May 25, 2014 Liberty, New York Arline (Cannon) GREENBERG, of Liberty, died on May 25, 2014 at the age of 90. Born in the Bronx, NY, Mrs. Greenberg was the daughter of the late Lillian Breakell Cannon and George Leighton Cannon. During the depression, Mrs. Greenberg moved with her family to Otisville, NY. She preformed as a majorette with marching bands thorough out the tri-state area. During the Second World War, she worked at an airplane factory where she assembled airplane engines. After the war, she moved briefly to Florida and then moved to Liberty, NY to work as a waitress at Grossinger’s Hotel. It was at Grossinger’s that she met her husband, Jack Greenberg. A resident of Liberty, NY for 66 years, Mrs. Greenberg was a member of the first graduating class at Sullivan Country Community College where she earned an Associate of Science degree in Mental Health Assisting in 1969, graduating with high honors. Shortly after earning her degree, Mrs. Greenberg accepted a position at the Middletown Psychiatric Hospital in Middletown, NY as a psychiatric social worker, where she worked for twenty years. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack Greenberg. Devoted mother of Nancy Pithis and her husband Charles of Sudbury, MA and Dr. Ronald Greenberg and his wife Beth Fedirko of Sea Ciff, NY. Loving sister of Jack Cannon of Piketon, Ohio and Ann Mass of Hagerstown, MD and sister-in-law of Virginia Cannon of Casewell Beach, North Carolina and Vicky Greenberg of Clifton, NJ. Cherised grandmother of Alanna Pithis, Michael Pithis, Alexander Greenberg, and Daniel Greenberg. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Burial will take place in the King Solomon Cemetery in Clifton. NJ. On Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 1pm
