Alexander Glick of Highland Park, NJ and a longtime resident of Monticello, NY passed away peacefully at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. He was 98.
The son of the late Abraham Glick and Rebecca Wapner Glick he was born on March 13, 1914 in Monticello, NY.
He and his partner, Arthur Pickard, founded the successful accounting firm of Glick and Pickard in Monticello, NY. He was Mason and a member of the local chapter of Kiwanis and also of the Alumni Association of Rider College [University] and Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity. Alex was a man of where a handshake meant you had a deal...you had his word. He lived his life with integrity; devotion to family and friends; and for everyone that knew him, his passion for the game of golf. He will always be remembered for his diligence in living a full and healthy life much like someone 20 years younger.
He is survived by his daughter, Phyllis Glick Telleri of Metuchen, NJ; his grandchildren, Jordana Glick-Franzheim of Austin, Texas; Gina Telleri Huang of Warren, NJ and Greg Telleri of New York City; his two great-grandchildren, Brandon Frank Huang and Chad James Huang; his sister, Ida Herzog, of Monticello, NY.
In addition to his parents Alex was predeceased by his beloved wife of 75 years, Lillian Field Glick; grandson, Richie Glick; son, Michael Glick; son-in-law, Frank C. Telleri; brothers: Samuel Glick and Murray Glick; and sisters Eva Lerner and Cele Berman Treiger.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 20, 2013 at 12pm at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY. Burial will follow at the Landfield Avenue Synagogue Cemetery, Thompsonville Road, Monticello.
