Obituary of Alex Gray

Alex Gray September 6, 1921 - January 19, 2013 Goshen, NY Alex Gray, a longtime resident of Woodridge, NY and Port St. Lucie, FL passed away peacefully on January 19, 2013 at Elant at Goshen. He was 91 years old. Alex spent most of his life working in the building industry as owner of Alex Gray Contracting. He was also owner of Gray's Center Hardware Store in Mountaindale and later Robi-Lane Cottages in Woodbourne. He was an avid stamp collector, fisherman and an active member of Kiwanis. Alex was very artistic and especially loved creating with stained glass. Many of his art works can be found in the homes of his family and friends as well as Woodridge Town Hall. Alex is survived by his three daughters, Helaine Berrios (Joe) of Boca Raton, FL, Robin Kister(George) of Middletown, NY and Lisa Sjogren (Dave) of Vienna, VA; his seven grandchildren, Jason Greenberg, Jennifer Klaes, Evan and Emily Kister, Griffin, Abby and Tessa Smalley; and four great-grandchildren. Alex was predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Pearl Levitz Gray and his sister Min Yourieff. The family would like to thank the kind and compassionate staff of Elant at Goshen for the excellent care he received the last five years of his life. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan 22 at 11:00am at the Joseph N Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY. Burial will follow in the Workman's Circle #281, Marsh Road, Glen Wild, NY.
