Obituary of Milton Kabak

Milton Kabak, 84 Monticello, NY July 23, 1926 - December 31, 2010 Milton Kabak of Monticello, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 84. The son of the late Michael & Gertrude Kabak, Milton was born July 23, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY. A proud military man, Milton was awarded the Bronze Star during his time in WWII. He was a Forward Scout for the Army, serving a majority of his time in the Philippines. Milton was well known around Monticello and beyond, having managed the Al Cohen's Sport Shop on Broadway in Monticello for 27 years. For the past 17 years, Milton worked at the Sullivan County Court House in Monticello. Through the years, Milt became very fond of animals and the security they brought. He will be sorely missed by his community and all that knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife at home, Charlotte Brafman Kabak; his daughter, Stephanie Suarez of Liverpool, NY; a son, Stuart Kabak and his wife, Margie of Swan Lake; two grandchildren: Holly Dodge and Daniel Suarez; one great grandchild; one sister, Judy Lidsky of FL; and several nieces and nephews.. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 4 at 1:00pm at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway in Monticello with Rabbi Michele Brand Medwin officiating. Interment will follow at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery on Sunset Road in Liberty, NY. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Veterans Association at AMVETS National Service Foundation, 4647 Forbes Boulevard, Lanham, MD 20706. or to the Sullivan County SPCA in Rock Hill, P.O.
