Obituary of Helen Salovin

Helen Salovin, 80 years of age, passed away Monday, July 2, 2012 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. Daughter of the late Sam & Anna Cherviok, she was born on December 11, 1931 in Woodridge, NY. Helen was member of Jewish Women's International, Workman's Circle #281, Loch Sheldrake Senior Citizens, Woodridge Kiwanis and Lochmor Ladies Golf League. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Irwin "Steamboat" Salovin. She is survived by her sons: Martin Salovin of Woodridge, Aaron (Sandra) Salovin of Rock Hill, NY; a daughter, Susan Salovin of New York City; her brother, Alexander Cherviok of Ellenville, NY; a sister, Olga Akerley of Woodridge, NY; her grandchildren: Tyler & Rebecca Salovin, Robert Salovin and Michael Decampos; two step great grandchildren: Ashley & Trevor Decampos; many nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends. Funeral services will be held today, July 4, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway, Monticello. Burial will follow at Workman's Circle #281, Marsh Road, Glen Wild, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home of Monticello.
