Obituary of Roberta Yeagerman

ROBERTA ZALKIN YAGERMAN March 2, 1938 - July 21, 2012 White Sulphur Springs, NY Roberta Zalkin Yagerman, 74, died in Tampa, FL on July 21, 2012. A native of Liberty, she lived her adult life in New York City. Before her retirement to White Sulphur Springs, NY, Roberta headed the office of graduate student housing for the city University of New York for many years. She attended Bard College and earned her bachelor and master's degrees at Hunter. Among her many accomplishments, Roberta was the president of the New York City chapter of Hadassah, president of the Liberty chapter of Hadassah, president of Congregation Ahavath Israel (the synagogue founded by her grandfather, Max Zalkin). Roberta was the organizer of many Liberty High School reunions and wonderful family reunions at her country home in White Sulphur Springs. As the eldest of the Hattie and Harry Zalkin clan, she is survived by her brother, Max (sister-in-law, Linda Malter Zalkin) of Tampa, FL; sister, Linda Komatsu of Tenafly, NJ, sister, Jacqueline Dee Fliegner of Baltimore, MD, sister, Pinky Zalkin of Grass Valley, CA and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many wonderful, caring friends. Roberta was predeceased by her beloved parents and sister, Francine Zalkin Foster of Grass Valley, CA. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 24 at 12 noon at Ahavath Israel Synagogue, Chestnut St., Liberty, NY. Rabbi Kay will officiate. Burial will be in Ahavath Israel Cemetery, Hy-San-Na Rd. in Liberty. Funeral arrangements by Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, Inc., Monticello.
