Obituary of Mae Alport

Mae Alport July 22, 1916 - August 22, 2012 96 years old Mae Alport of Boca Raton Florida passed away at home on Wednesday August 22, 2012 at the age 96. The daughter of the late Anna and Nathan Greene, Mae was born in New York and made her home in South Fallsburg. Mae was predeceased by her beloved husband Harold Alport and by her sister Bertha Goldstein, her brother Sam Greene and her son -in- law Barney Bergman. Mae and Harold had a wonderful marriage. They were devoted to each other and worked together to create a loving family and a successful business. Mae was a caring and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She is survived by her children Carole Bergman of Boyton Beach, FL and Judy and Harris Alport of South Fallsburg, NY. Mae's greatest happiness came from the love she shared with her treasured grand children and great grand children. Amy, Loren, and Brett Wohl. Larry, Debbie, Taylor, and Hunter Fein. Beth, Roy, and Ayla Notowitz. Dory and Jay Frischman. Mae's extended family was very dear to her especially her sister-in-law Sylvia Greene and her children, Marty and Monica Greene, Richard and Helene Green, and Karen and Mark Drutz all whom frequently visited with Mae. Among Mae's closest friends were her in-laws David and Sylvia Rashkin of Mountaindale and her devoted friend and caretaker; Bertha Joseph. Graveside services will be held Sunday, August 26, 2012 at 11am at Old Montefiore Cemetery, St. Albans, Queens, NY. Rabbi Yaakov Barros will officiate. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home of Monticello, NY.
