Obituary of Blanche Himmel

Blanche Himmel Liberty, NY Blanche Himmel of Liberty, a retired manager for the ladies health club at Grossingers Hotel, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. She was 87. The daughter of the late Avram & Hannah Messing, she was born July 8, 1919 in Boyanev, Poland. She was the widow of David Himmel who predeceased her in 1978. A holocaust survivor, Mrs. Himmel was also a former treasurer for the Ferndale Synagogue. She is survived by a son: Abraham J. Himmel of Santa Barbara, CA; and a daughter: Ronnie Ann Himmel of Brooklyn. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother: Meyer Messing. Graveside services and burial will be held on Friday, September 1 at 12:00 noon at the Ferndale Synagogue Cemetery in Parksville. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of ones choice
