Obituary of Julius Herschowsky

Julius Herschowsky Formerly of Kerhonkson, New York Julius Herschowsky, former owner of Hershey Tool Company, and 80+ year area resident, died Monday, March 21, 2005 at Hospice By The Sea, in Boca Raton, Florida, of natural causes. He was 86. The son of the late Samuel Herschowsky and the late Tillie Herschowsky, he was born August 16, 1918 in New York, New York. He was married to the late Sylvia Herschowsky, who passed away on December 2, 2001, and was predeceased by his brother, Irving Hershey. Mr. Herschowsky was the last living charter member of the Accord Fire Company and was also a charter member of the Kerhonkson-Accord First Aid Squad. He was involved in various fire/police fund raising and civic community activities throughout the years and was also a constable. A pillar of the community, he resided in Florida but summered in his home in Kerhonkson, New York until July 2002. Survivors include his Son, Norman Herschowsky, of Sunrise, Florida, Granddaughters Erica Herschowsky Levine, of Tamarac, Florida, and Stefanie Herschowsky Price, of Fishertown, Pennsylvania, Former Daughter-In-Law Diane Herschowsky, of Sunrise, Florida, Great Grandchildren Ethan and Emma Price, of Fishertown, Pennsylvania, and various other family members. Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 25, 2005 at 12p.m. at the Kerhonkson-Accord Jewish Farmers Cemetery in Kerhonkson, New York, located on Berme Road. Cantor Devora Gartner will officiate. The Family will be receiving visitors after the funeral at the Accord Firehouse on Friday, March 25, 2005 from 1to 3pm. Contributions/Donations can be made to the Kerhonkson-Accord First Aid Squad and the Accord Fire Company. Funeral arrangements by Joseph Garlick Funeral Home in Monticello, New York.
