Obituary of Pearl Gray

Pearl Gray Woodridge, N.Y. and Delray Beach, Fla. Pearl Gray, a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, passed away at home with her family by her side on Friday, November 18, 2005 at the age of 78. The daughter of the late Fannie Sattell and Harry Levitz, she was born in Monticello, New York. In addition to raising her family, Pearl also worked outside of the home. She and Alex, her beloved husband of 57 years, owned and operated Grays Center in Mountaindale and, later, Robi-Lane Cottages in Woodbourne. Pearl was an active member of the Town of Fallsburg Kiwanis. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Alex, her three daughters, Lanie Smith of Sunrise, Florida, Robin Kister and husband George of Middletown, New York, and Lisa Gray of McLean, Virginia; grandchildren Jason Greenberg and Jennifer Podolak, Evan and Emily Kister, and Griffin, Abby, and Tessa Smalley, and great-grandchildren Gage and Ty Podolak. Pearl was predeceased by her brother Larry Levitz, and is survived by her sister Gertie Becker of Tupelo, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on, Monday, November 21 at 10am at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home Inc, 388 Broadway, Monticello. Rabbi Irving Goodman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Workman Circle #281 Cemetery, Marsh Rd, Glen Wild, NY. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan, 800 Stony Brook Road, Newburgh, NY 12550.
