Obituary of Murray Tevelowitz

MURRAY TEVELOWITZ SOUTH FALLSBURG, NY Murray Tevelowitz, a lifetime Fallsburg resident and retired Insurance agent for the former Rhulen agency, died on Friday, April 29, 2005 at home. He was 83. Murray was born in Fallsburg on November 19, 1921 the son of William and Mollie Steiger Tevelowitz. He was a World War II Army veteran, and a volunteer at Catskill Regional Medical Center for over 20 years as well as being the volunteer financial secretary for the South Fallsburg Hebrew Association for over 40 years. He was also involved in many other civic and religious organizations. He was survived by his loving wife of 59 years Anne Present Tevelowitz at home, with whom he walked hand and hand with for so many years, he is also survived by his two sons; Neil Tevelowitz of South Fallsburg and Harold Tevelowitz and his wife Margaret of Thornwood, NY, his one brother; Isidore Tevelowitz and his wife Judith of Fla, his sister; Rita Kohn of Illinois, and his grandchildren; Kenneth and Amy, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Daniel. Shiva will be observed at the family home in South Fallsburg from today Sunday, thru Friday. Graveside funeral services were held on Friday, April 29, 2005. Rabbi Ben Zion Chanowitz officiated. Burial was in the South Fallsburg Hebrew Association Cemetery Glen Wild, NY. Funeral arrangements by Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home Inc. Monticello.
