Obituary of Helen Horowitz

HELEN HOROWITZ TUCSON, AZ Helen Horowitz, a retired Social Worker for the state of Arizona department of Child Protective services retiring in 1998, where she spent twenty years attending to the well being of battered and abused children, passed away at her home in Tucson on Sunday, August 7, 2005. She was 54. Helen was born in Monticello on June 11, 1951 the daughter of Joseph and Shirley Katz Horowitz. She graduated from Monticello High School and attended the State University of New York at Brockport where she achieved a Masters degree in Social Work. She is survived by her brothers: Phillip and David Horowitz, her nieces; Shari Kantor and Carin Horowitz, great nephew Ryan Kantor and great niece Jordan Kantor, and her step-mother Gladys Horowitz and many cousins. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2005 at 11:30am at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home Inc. 388 Broadway Monticello, NY. Rabbi Ben Zion Chanowitz will officiate.
