Obituary of Florence Lyons

Florence E. Lyons Monticello, NY Florence E. Lyons, an entrepreneur and former owner of the House of Lyons Restaurant in Monticello, died Monday, September 11, 2006, at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, N.Y. She was 87. Born June 13, 1919 in Port Chester, N.Y., she was the widow of Arthur V. Lyons. She is survived by two sons, Robert M. Lyons and his wife, Georgia, of Liberty and Marc D. Lyons and his wife, Judy, of Monticello; two daughters, June Bell of Napa, Calif. and Sue Morgan and her husband, Peter, of Syracuse, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Julius E. Lyons, and a sister, Marie Voss. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 14, at 11 a.m. at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway in Monticello. Rabbi Michele Medwin will officiate. Memorial contributions can be made to the Skilled Nursing Unit, Harris, NY 12742.
