Obituary of Ruth Newman

Ruth L. Newman Monticello, N.Y. Ruth Linden Newman of Monticello, NY died Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Achieve Rehab Nursing Facility in Liberty, NY. The daughter of the late Benjamin and Rose Linden, Ruth was born on June 2, 1918 in New York City. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry Newman who predeceased her in 1979. She was an avid reader, one of the founding members of the Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop, and also one of 40 families that founded Temple Sholom in Monticello, N.Y. She is survived by her brother Jack Linden of Boca Raton, FL; her sons Richard (Ida) Newman of Loch Sheldrake, NY, and Keith Newman of Mountaindale, NY and his fiance Laurie Woods; her daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Steven Silverman of Mongaup Valley, NY; her grandchildren Mandi (Paul) Bromberg, Haley and Kara Silverman; her great grandchildren Sedona and Bryce Bromberg; her close friends Ceil and Allen Plotkin and Mary Patt; and niece Barbara Kaufer; all of Monticello, NY; as well as many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Abe and Phil Linden, and one sister, Bess Berman. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements by Joseph N.
