Obituary of Abbe Rogow
ABBE ROGOW
ELLENVILLE, NY
We note, with profound sorrow, the passing of Abbe Rogow on Saturday, March 10th in the Orange Regional Medical Center Horton Campus. He was 93.
Abbe was born and raised in Spring Glen, New York, the son of Morris and Anna Meyerson Rogow. He attended Alfred University. He was a principal owner in the Ellenville Bottled Gas Corporation for over thirty years. He was a well-respected and generous businessman. In recent years he became very active in real estate sales in the Ellenville area. Until recently, he was an avid golfer, and was the pride of his family when he got a hole-in-one on two separate occasions.
When Myron and Gary were younger, Abbe spent much of his time at local basketball and baseball games, supporting his sons teams. He enjoyed cheering for his two boys, and was proud of their accomplishments, both on the sport fields and off.
Abbe will be best remembered for his devotion to his wife and children. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, all of whom were a source of great pride and much joy to him. He will be sorely missed by his family, the community, and the many friends he had.
Abbe is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Ethel Horowitz Rogow. He is also survived by two devoted sons, Myron (and daughter-in-law, Joyce,) and Gary (and daughter-in-law, Marie). Abbe was also the adored Grandpa to five grandchildren; Melissa, Jack, Jonathan, Matthew, and Brett. He was also blessed to be the Great Grandpa to Joshua and Zoe.
Funeral services will be held today, Monday March 12 at 11:00 am at Congregation Ezrath Israel. Rabbi Moshe Frank will officiate. Burial will be in Ezrath Israel Cemetery Route 209 Wawarsing.
The family will be observing the shivah period through Wednesday at the Rogow residence, and then through the end of the shivah period at the home of Myron and Joyce, in New City, New York.
The family requests that any contributions in Abbes name be made to Congregation Ezrath Israel or the charity of your choice.
