SOLOMON (Charles) SOLOWITZ
MONTICELLO, NY
Solomon Solowitz, a retired scrape metal dealer, and longtime area resident, died on Monday, July 23, 2007 in James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Bronx, NY. He was 88.
Solomon was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 10, 1918 the son of Abraham and Rachel Taubman Solowitz. He was a World War II and Korean Navy veteran. He was a member of Monticello Senior Club.
He is survived by his longtime companion and love Tina Pantalona at home, his daughter: Babs Solowitz Kaplinsky of Los Angeles, Calf, his son; Sandy Solowitz of Los Angeles, his three grandchildren; Samatha Lee, Molly and Robert, and his brother; Martin Soloway of Florida, and his two sisters; Florence Steurenthal of Florida and Rosalind Mazo of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Solomon was predeceased by his wife Lillian, and his four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 10am in the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home Inc. 388 Broadway Monticello, NY. Rabbi Ben Zion Chanowitz will officiate. Burial will be in the Agudas Achim Cemetery, Livingston Manor, NY.
