HARRIS, NY
Betty Resnick, a longtime resident of the Center for Discovery, passed away Monday June 2, 2008, at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was 79.
Betty, originally from the Bronx, was born April 2, 1929 and lived at home until the age of 22. She came to the Center for Discovery in May of 1985 and retired to the Otis Armstrong House in June 2000, with her longtime friends.
Betty enjoyed a wide variety of activities and was very social. She loved planning parties and was always the gracious hostess. Betty was known for her latch hook rugs that she gave to friends as gifts. She was a spirited, loving and generous lady. Betty was proud of her Jewish heritage and participated passionately in the celebrations and traditions. Betty is survived by her niece Sandra Keller of Port St. Lucie, Florida and her grand nephews and great grand nephews. She will be missed by her Otis family and her many friends at the Center.
Services will be held on Wednesday June, 4 at 11:00am at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway in Monticello, with Rabbi B. Chanowitz officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00pm at the Hebrew Aide Society Cemetery, Holmes Road, Harris.
