Obituary of Mildred "Peshie" Hocker

MILDRED PESHIE HOCKER TUCSON, AZ FORMERLY OF MONTICELLO, NY Peshie Hocker, a longtime resident of Monticello, NY and a retired clerk for the Town of Thompson Justice Court, died on Thursday, June 5, 2008 in Tucson, Arizona. She was 90. Peshie was the widow of the late Julius Hocker who died in 1992. She was born in the Bronx, NY on March 6, 1918 the daughter of Hymen & Rose Brown Rubin. She was a life member of Hadassh and the Deborah Foundation and was a former member of the Landfield Ave Synagogue in Monticello. She is survived by her two children; Richard Hocker and his wife Susan of Athens, NY and Terri Wayne of Tucson, AZ and her three grandchildren; Jordana Wayne, Daniel Hocker and his wife Lauren and Jason Hocker, and several nieces and nephews. Peshie was predeceased by her sister, Lillian Sharoff and her brother Jack Rubin. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at 2pm in the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home Inc. 388 Broadway Monticello, NY. Rabbi Ben Zion Chanowitz will officiate. Burial will be in the Hebrew Aide Society Cemetery, Holmes Rd. Harris, NY.
