Obituary of Lillian Shabus

LILLIAN SHABUS WOODRIDGE, NY AUGUST 1, 1915-SEPTEMBER 13, 2008 Lillian Shabus, a longtime Woodridge resident, died on Saturday September 13, 2008 at her home in Woodridge with her family by her side. She was 93. Lillian was born in Mountaindale on August 1, 1915 the daughter of Jacob and Celia Sheinberg Meyerson. She was a longtime volunteer at Catskill Regional Hospital, Harris, a life member of Hadassah, ORT, Jewish Women International and Deborrah, a member of the Sisterhood of the Woodridge Synagogue and the Kiwanis club. She is survived by her sons: Dr. Marvin Shabus of New York, NY and Dennis Gold of Naples, Florida, her two sisters: Ruth Magid of Atlanta, Georgia and Charlotte Schwartz of Delray Beach, Florida and several nieces and nephews. Lillian was predeceased by her husband Max Shabus, her sisters; Doris Kaminsky and Sara Rosen and her brother-in-laws, George Kaminsky and Marvin Magid. Funeral services will be held today, Monday, September 15, 2008 at 4pm in the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home Inc. 388 Broadway Monticello, NY. Rabbi Irving Goodman will officiate.
