Obituary of Zeriah "Zee" Lampert

ZEE (ZERIAH) LAMPERT, 79 June 6, 1929 - April 15, 2009 Mountaindale, New York Zee (Zeriah) Lampert, a lifelong resident of Mountaindale, N.Y. passed away at Westchester Medical Center, N.Y. on April 15, 2009. She was born on June 6, 1929 in Jersey City. She was the daughter of Leah and Simon Yellen, former owners of Camp Raleigh Macabee in Livingston Manor and Camp Machnium in Monticello. Here she developed a great love for the country atmosphere, the abundant greenery, the wooded paths, the rolling hills and the camaraderie of camp life. She received her BS in Journalism and English at Long Island University. She was a free lance research analyst, consulting in health and alternative medicine, writing, directing, and producing shows for a small amateur theater group. She also edited speeches for delivery and publication on religious and political subjects for a writer/educator. She was a Member of the Hebrew Congregation of Mountaindale. She was a gifted storyteller and a remarkable hostess, always enjoying and celebrating the holidays with gathering friends and family. She listened to everyone and always offered a lending hand in times of trouble. She was always a devoting, caring, loving mother and wife. Her survivors include her husband, Louis, daughters Rachelle and Deborah, and brothers and sisters in-laws and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Her companion Lori Sarvis provided her with living comfort, friendship and kindness during difficult times. Zee's message of hope: "Have many years filled with laughter". Funeral services will be held on Friday April 17, 2009 at the gravesite of the Hebrew Congregation of Mountaindale, located on Marsh Road in Glen Wild, with Rabbi Shlomo Zweiback officiating, from the Yeshiva Zichron Mayir. Shiva will be at the home of Louis Lampert, 24 Ann Lane, Mountaindale, N.Y starting Sunday April 19, 2009.
