Leah Resnick, 89 Monticello, NY July 2, 1919 - April 25, 2009 Leah Resnick of Monticello died Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Elant at Goshen. She was 89. The daughter of the late Jacob Cohen and Ida Resner Cohen, she was born July 2, 1919 in Monticello. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Mrs. Resnick was also active in The Deborah Heart Foundation, the Monticello Soup Kitchen, the Girl Scouts and the Monticello Seniors. She is survived by her husband of 65 years: Daniel Resnick, at home; two daughters: Patti Resnick Chernow of Woodridge and Judy Resnick of Monticello; a son: Steven Resnick & his wife Judy of Shelton, CT; four grandchildren: Dawn Ciorciari & her husband Al of Hurleyville, Jamie Resnick of Boston, Mass., Stacey Resnick of Clinton, CT and Jeffrey Resnick of Shelton, CT; a great granddaughter: Carissa; a brother: Abe Cohen & his wife Lynn of the state of Florida; a sister: Ruth Rovinsky & her husband Norman of Valley Stream; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she waspredeceased by a granddaughter: Laurie Resnick; two sisters: Zelda and Fay; and a brother: Sam. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 27 at 11:00am at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway in Monticello with Rabbi Ben Zion Chanowitz officiating. Burial will follow at the Cold Spring Road Cemetery in Monticello. The family will be sitting Shiva at the home of Judy Resnick in Monticello starting after the funeral Monday until Tuesday evening.
