William Adamson, 81 Monticello, NY December 15, 1927 - August 31, 2009 William Adamson of Monticello, a retired electronics manufacturer and longtime resident of the area, died Monday, August 31, 2009 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 81. The son of the late Avrom Adamski and Mariam Zolokofski Adamski, he was born December 15, 1927 in Germany. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Mr. Adamson was the sole Holocaust survivor from his family in Germany. He was dedicated to giving his children a Jewish education. He will be sadly missed by his family. He is survived by his wife Ruth Adamson, at home; a son: Steven Adamson (and Kelli) of Downsville; four daughters: Marilyn Adamson (and Andrew Greenberg) of San Francisco, CA, Elisa (and Patrick) Burns of Parksville, Sharon Jacobs (and Pinchas) of New Hempstead and Susan Taubes of Teaneck, NJ; his grandchildren: Max (and Rakhel) Adamson, Jaycob, Matthew and Ryan Burns, Gitty, Leah and Sorah Jacobs, Jessica Adamson, Jonathan and Julia Taubes; and his great grandchildren: Avi and Ruthie Adamson. He was predeceased by a son: Alan Adamson of San Francisco, CA. His funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 1 at 2:00pm at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway in Monticello with Rabbi Ben Zion Chanowitz officiating. Burial will follow at the Landfield Avenue Synagogue Cemetery in Monticello. The family will be sitting Shiva at the family home 17 Dillon Farm Road, Monticello NY. Memorial contributions in his name can be made to the Landfield Avenue Synagogue, Monticello, NY.
