Obituary of Pearl Kollender

Pearl grew up as part of the warm, close-knit and hard working Jacobson family in Hurleyville working alongside her siblings in the family's butcher shop. She was a reverse snowbird coming home to Hurville and readapting to the cold , snowy winters of her childhood after living for decades in Florida with her husband, Edward Kollender. Her family remembers her wonderful combination of poise and determination, always demonstrating strength and generosity in every situation She was born November 25, 1910 in Hurleyville. The daughter of Max and Bessie Jacobson. She was the widow of Edward Kollender. She is survived by sisters Gail and Helen; sister-in-law Florence and many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews and great grand-nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her parents Bessie and Max Jacobson; sisters Ann and Rose; brothers Abe, Louis B (Perk), and Julius; and her husband, Edward Kollender.. Graveside services will be held at the Hurleyville Jewish Cemetery on Monday, November 2nd at 11am. Rabbi Irving Goodman will officate.
