Obituary of Harriet Novick
Harriet Novick, a longtime resident of Woodridge and Hallandale Beach, FL, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty. She was 89.
The daughter of the late Charles Salzman and Stella Bogner Salzman, she was born May 25, 1920 in the Bronx.
Harriet and her deceased husband Alex Novick owned and operated Al's Liquor Store on Broadway in Monticello until they retired to Florida.
She is survived by her children: Carl Novick of Arizona, Eileen Rhulen & her husband Peter of New York City and Stuart Novick & his wife Adele of Woodridge; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Arthur Novick of Las Vegas.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 6 at 11:00am at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway in Monticello. Burial will follow at the Workman's Circle Cemetery in Glen Wild. The family will be sitting Shiva at the home of Stuart Novick from Saturday night thru Sunday.
