Obituary of Esther Denkensohn

Esther Denkensohn July 2, 1924-December 13, 2009 85 years old New Paltz, NY-Formerly of Accord, NY Esther Denkensohn, a devoted family woman and long time resident of Accord died on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the Kingston Benedictine Hospital in Kingston, NY. She was 85. Esther was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 2, 1924. Spending the bulk of her life in Accord, Esther was a proud and devoted home maker and enjoyed her family dearly. She was a member of the Ahavath Israel Synagogue in Kinston, and during her life, she was an active volunteer in the Rondout Valley School System, and served as a board member for the Rondout Valley Scholarship Fund. Esther is survived by her husband, Charles Denkensohn, at home; her son, Michael Denkensohn, and his wife Shauna, of New York, NY; her daughters, Debra Jacobson, and her husband David, of McLean, VA, and Sheri Trott, and her husband Tony, of Arlington, VA; her grandsons, Zachary Denkensohn, of New York, NY and Andrew Jacobson, of Brooklyn, NY; and her great grandson, Santino Jacobson, of Owosso, MI. Funeral services for Esther will be held today, Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 1:00pm, the Congregation Anshe Tzaydik, 186 Canal Street in Ellenville with Rabbi Moshe Frank officiating. Burial will follow at the Kerhonkson Synagogue Cemetery in Accord. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Rondout Valley Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 96, Stone Ridge, NY 12484. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home of Ellenville.
