Obituary of Burton Baidowsky
Burton Baidowsky, a retired custodial supervisor for the Monticello Central Schools, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at his home in Kiamesha Lake. He was 74.
The son of the late Abraham Baidowsky and Sally Schneider Baidowsky, he was born January 23, 1936 in the Bronx.
Burt was an accomplished painter, and a band member while serving in the United States Army. He considered himself the "richest man" in the world due his close loving family.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years: Sylvia Sohmer Baidowsky, at home; a son: Michael Baidowsky & his wife Lily Choy of Edison, NJ; two daughters: Pamela Dorn & her husband Jeff of Scotch Plains, NJ and Elisa brown & her husband Eric of Edison, NJ; six grandchildren: Sari Dorn, Ali Dorn, Sydney Brown, Spencer Brown, Ashley Baidowsky and Bryant Baidowsky; a sister: Joyce Slomovitz & her husband Robert of Plainview; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 5 at 10:00am at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway in Monticello with Rabbi Joel Abraham of Fanwood, NJ officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus, NJ.
Shiva will be held at the home of Pamela Dorn in Scotch Plains, NJ from Saturday evening until Tuesday evening.
