Obituary of Ellen Joan Sabloff

Ellen Joan Goldberg Sabloff November 9, 1950 - May 23, 2010 Great Neck, NY It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Ellen Joan Goldberg Sabloff, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 23rd, after an 18 month battle with cancer. As with everything else she during her 59 years, she defied odds and showed unwavering strength and courage in fighting this battle with her family by her side. She was a woman of great character and great opinion, who touched all those who knew her through her outlooks on life, politics, and culture, and through her love of art and baseball. She was an avid fan of the NY Mets for almost 50 years. She was a trendsetter and an independent voice, and served as a pillar of strength for her family. Ellen grew up in Forest Hills, NY and spent the last 30 years as a resident of Great Neck, NY on Long Island where she was a devoted member of the community, raised two sons and was an active member of Fresh Meadow Country Club for almost 25 years. She leaves behind her husband, Warren Sabloff, originally of Liberty, NY, her two sons Adam and Josh, her daughter-in-law Elyssa Miller Sabloff, and her loving sisters, Karen and Janis Goldberg and brothers-in-law George Green and JJ Van Cura.. She was pre-deceased by her mother Alice Sears Goldberg.
