Obituary of Leo Jack Podhorzer

Leo Podhorzer born June 7, 1926, and passed on February 28, 2011. He was loved dearly and lived life to the fullest, his greatest joy was his family. Born in the Bronx to Lily and Alter Podhorzer, he was a devoted son, and a beloved younger brother to Ruth. He met and married the love of his life Vivian, and for over 30 years they lived by their sacred vows and loved and nurtured each other until her untimely passing in 1980. Nancy came into his life and together they made a new life in Loch Sheldrake until her passing in 2007. He lived for the family that adored him, daughters Barbara and Donna (Bobby), grandchildren Michael, Ian (Heather), Vanessa (Jason) and Robert. Just recently he was blessed with twin great grandchildren Ava & Chase and knew another special delivery was on the way. His guardian angel, Karin, came into his life and together they shared a fairytale love that made his last years so rich in happiness. He welcomed her daughter (lil) Karen into his heart as well. A devoted man he honorably served his country when stationed in Germany during WWII. He raised the ranks to the highest esteem, Grand Master as a loyal and proud Mason. As a well known and highly respected man of the community, he volunteered at Catskill Regional Medical Center and was active in the Senior Group. A religious man, he felt great pride and comfort with a prayer book in hand, giving thanks for his wonderful life. Through his love, his legacy will live on.
