Obituary of Norma Allowe

Norma Post Allowe, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, died at home on March 4, 2011. She was 83. Born in the Bronx on October 12, 1927 in New York. Norma lived in Monsey, NY prior-to moving to Sackett Lake, NY in 1972. She was well known in the Monticello community, especially among young people because of her work as a teachers' aid at the Monticello Middle School and her years as manager of the Playland Arcade. Norma is predeceased by her eldest child, Jay, and is survived by her son,Gregory Allowe;daughter, Alisa Allowe, daughter, Michele Safrin, son in law, Louis Safrin, and beloved grandchildren Nicholas, Alexa, Adam, Zachary and Alana. She will never be forgotten for all the love, laughter and comfort she brought to this world. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 7, 2011 at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway, Monticello at 3pm. Rabbi Chanowitz will officiate.
