Obituary of Sandra Levensohn

Sandra Levensohn, 78, of Middletown, died Thursday, June 2, 2011 at home. The daughter of the late Robert and Ida Shumsky, she was born May 25, 1933, in Plainfield, NJ. A graduate of Rutgers University, she was a retired accountant and bookkeeper. Sandy was a loving and devoted wife, mother and friend. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Levensohn. She is survived by her daughter, Caren Levensohn, of Brooklyn; her son, Michael Levensohn, of Middletown; her brother, Michael Shaw, of Atlanta; her sister, Rita Rothrock, of Miami; her stepmother, Berrie Deutschman, of Miami; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, June 5, at Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY. Burial will follow at Woodridge Synagogue Cemetery, Marsh Rd., Glen Wild, NY. Memorial donations may be made to the Hebrew Day School, P.O. Box 239, Kiamesha Lake, NY 12751.
