Mrs. Edna Pearl Tabachnick of Loch Sheldrake NY passed away on Monday, July 25, 2011 at Elant of Newburgh. She was 86.
She was born April 23, 1925 in the Bronx to Meyer and Regina Fisch.
She married the love of her life Morris Tabachnick in 1947 and they shared over 49 years of marriage starting in Brooklyn, NY where they raised two sons and later in Foxcrost Village, Loch Sheldrake, NY where they enjoyed an active social life together.
Upon his death in 1996 Edna carried on taking care of her home, reading books, doing needlework, and visiting friends and family.
You could always find her every Saturday morning getting her hair done at Golden Shears. She was an active member of the Loch Sheldrake Seniors club and the Foxcroft Homeowners Association. She enjoyed volunteering in the local elementary school, helping the children read and participating in the RSVP program.
Surviving are her two sons, Jeffrey Tabachnick of Brooklyn, NY and Barry Tabachnick and his wife Gail of Newburgh, NY; three beloved grandchildren: Laura, Kelly, and Christopher and his wife Laurie and two great-grandchildren: Olivia and Dylan. As well as many friends and relatives who will cherish her memory.
She was pre-deceased by her two brothers, Alex and Joseph Fisch.
Graveside services will be held today, Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at 12:00pm at the Hurleyville Synagogue Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Hurleyville, New York, with Rabbi Mike Sturm presiding.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home of Monticello.
