Elsie Liff, 100 Winter Garden, FL formerly of Bethel, NY January 14, 1912 - January 17, 2012 Elsie Liff of Winter Garden, FL & Bethel, NY, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012. She was 100. Daughter of the late Nathan & Gussie (Hoffman) Lifschitz, she was born January 14, 1912 in Springfield, OH. Elsie was a switchboard operator for OZ Gedney Electric in Brooklyn, NY. She also volunteered at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. She was a very loving and caring person who put the needs of others before her own. She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her. She is survived by her nieces; Toby Sommers and her husband, David of Clermont, FL and Jane Schatz of New York City; her nephews; Neil Salzman and his wife, Gina of Hallandale Beach, FL and Bruce Salzman and his wife, Roz of Glendale, WI; great nephews; Steven Sommers and Kevin Sommers and his wife, Susie; great great-nephews; Tyler Sommers, James Johnson & Matthew Johnson, great great-niece; Alisa Sommers; her great-great nieces, Samantha Sommers & Jessica Sommers; her great-great nephew, Benjamin Sommers; and great nephews, Jimmie Schatz, Richard Schatz, and Nathan Salzman, and his wife Ai; and a host of cousins and friends. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a brother, Matthew Liff and two sisters; Esther Salzman & Anna Lifschitz.
