Obituary of David A. Lieberman
David A. Lieberman of the Bronx, N.Y. and a lifetime summer resident of Ferndale passed peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family, on Thursday, February 23, 2012. He was 77 years old.
Dave was a retired New York City Policeman and a New York Commodity Exchange Compliance Director.
The son of the late Max and Eva Lieberman was born on April 5, 1934, in New York City. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Dave was a diehard Brooklyn Dodger and Met Fan. He was shot on duty as a N.Y.C. policeman in his twenties and years later beat colon cancer. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. His family meant the world to him.
Dave is survived by his wife Myrna Lieberman of Manhattan, N.Y. and his children Paul Lieberman and his wife Jodi Fiddle-Lieberman of Liberty, N.Y. grandchildren, Jill, Joshua and Jeremy. Lori Zollo and her husband Lou of North Bellmore, N.Y. Grandchildren, Sam, Isabelle and Rebecca. Eddy Lieberman and his wife Barbara of Commack, N.Y. grandchildren, Jake, Max and Ben. Michael Lieberman and his wife Nikki of Manhattan, N.Y. grandchildren Zachary and Noah. Dave is predeceased by his sisters Betty Mondschein and Erma Kallen. He also had several nieces and nephews. Dave will be missed by all who loved him. May he rest in peace watching over his family.
A graveside service will be held at the Parksville Cemetery in Parksville, N.Y. on Sunday, February 26th at 12pm. Rabbi Kaye of Congregation Ahavath Israel will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice. Funeral arrangements are by Joseph N Garlick Funeral Home Inc, Monticello, N.Y.
