Obituary of Ann Danuff

Ann Danuff June 11, 1930 – July 11, 2013 Glen Spey, NY Ann Danuff of Glen Spey, NY passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 in Valhalla, NY. She was 83. The daughter of the late Michael & Dorothy Iser Freedman, she was born June 11, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Sol Danuff, her cowboy sweetheart. Ann wore many hats throughout her life, including: medical assistant, research chemist (had lunch with Albert Einstein,) classroom teacher, Special Education teacher, Special Education administrator, and barrel racer at circuit rodeos. She also was very active in the community as a volunteer with: Lumberland Environmental Council, Lumberland Board of Assessment Review, Sullivan County Legislative Action Committee, Lumberland Democratic Club, charter member of Lumberland Fire Department Auxiliary, Lumberland rep. for Sullivan County Office of Aging, life member of Hadassah, member of Temple Shalom prime timers, Lumberland seniors, Lions Club and Friends of the Library.  Survivors include: son, Steve Danuff and partner, Kay Hannah of Paonia, CO; daughters: Lori Danuff McKean and husband, Michael McKean of Shohola, PA, Shari Danuff Biro and husband, Andrew of the Town of Greenville, NY, Michele Danuff Brigham and husband, Steve of Westtown NY; seven grandchildren: Lauryl Danuff, Ben, Sarah and Rachel McKean, Kaylie and Mackenzie Biro, Courtney Brigham and one great grandchild, Etienne. Graveside service will be held Friday, July 12 at 1pm at Beth David Cemetery, 300 Elmont Rd., Elmont, NY. A Memorial celebration of her life will be held in the near future. Memorial contributions can be made to the Lumberland Fire Department, 5000 County Route 31, Glen Spey, NY or to Lifesavers Wild Horse Rescue Ranch, 23809 E Avenue J, Lancaster, CA 93535.
