Obituary of Glenn Lee Malek

Glenn Malek, a long time Monticello resident, lost his battle with Leukemia at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY, on January 18, 2017. He was 67 years old. Born in the Bronx on June 29, 1949, he grew up in Brooklyn and moved to Monticello in the 1970’s. Glenn was an avid sports fan, and especially loved baseball. He enjoyed a good poker game, a great meal and always looked forward to outings with his family and friends. Survivors include his brothers Michael Malek of Tennessee, David Malek of Bethel, NY, and Jerry and his wife Carol also residing in Bethel, NY. He is also survived by his nephews: Zachary Malek of Bethel, NY, Mark, Andrew and Adam Malek of Tennessee, and Kenneth Cuttita of Monticello, NY. Glenn also leaves behind his special friend, Lori Schneider, and all his pals and extended family at RSS. Glenn was pre-deceased by his parents Ruth Spring Malek and Zachary Irving Malek, of Monticello, and by his brother, Stephen Malek. A funeral service will take place on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at 2:30pm at the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, at 388 Broadway, Monticello, NY. Burial will immediately follow at the Brotherhood Cemetery, Old Thompson Road, Monticello, NY.
