Obituary of Joseph Resnick

Joey Resnick was the son of Justin Resnick and Diane James, and was born in in Middletown, NY on March 31, 1974. He grew up alongside his sister, Elyse Resnick, stepsisters Megan and Jilian Stombock, stepbrothers Lee and Mark James, and many cousins, aunts and uncles. His stepfather, Dr. Peter James, and stepmother, Fran Resnick, were also very central figures in his life, as well as his beloved grandparents, Marcia and Harry Resnick and Beverly and Eli Speiser.

He spent his childhood and adolescence surrounded by a large extended family, many friends, and enjoyed hobbies such as tennis, baseball, and fishing. After graduating high school, he attended Boston University where he studied psychology, but ultimately followed in his family’s footsteps and started his own business.

His adult life was characterized by hard work and the unyielding resolve to provide for his family, fiancée Kim Anderson, and children, Jacob Anderson, 21, and Peyton Resnick, 7, who he loved very much. He also loved animals, adopting many abandoned dogs and cats throughout his life.

Joey had a generous spirit, a great sense of humor, quick wit, strong moral compass and pure heart. He will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his family and business endeavors, and he will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. May he rest in peace.
